DAY 01: ARRIVAL ISLA MARGARITA: Meet and assist at airport, transfer to Hotel briefing of the excursion and preparation for the next day, dinner and overnight.
DAY 02: ISLA MARGARITA – CUMANA- CARIPE. After breakfast we go to the airport for our flight to Cumana. Late in the morning we return to the buses to go to the town of Caripe.
On the way we stop in Puertas de Miraflores for our first Up river walks, this time will cross Miraflores river several times until reaching "Las Puertas", this formations made from the erosion of the mountains gives us the
impression of walking between the big wall of a river canyon. At the end of our walk we come to a pond where we could dive in for a refreshing bath. Later we continue to Caripe for lunch. Caripe is a small farming town, well
known for the production of coffee and tropical fruits; it is called the garden of eastern Venezuela. First we will visit Guacharo's Cave, this ancient formation of almost 10 km. long of which 1 ½ can be visited has hundreds of
stalagmites and stalactites of curious shapes, and it is home to the night bird that is name after "The Guacharo", later by sunset we sit at the entrance of the cave to watch the exit of The Guacharos. These birds leave the
cave at night to find their food in remote places. After that we will go to the lodge "La Floresta" for diner and overnight.
DAY 03: CARIPE-MATURIN-WARAO COMMUNITIES. Breakfast. An early departure to Maturin, after a brief ride in the city and a rest stop we continue our route south to the rivers where the Warao
Indians live. There we will board the boats that will ride us down river to different Indian settlements. There we will have time to share with the communities, admire their handcrafts and enjoy the beautiful nature of the
river canals. We return to port after a light lunch. For the daring there could be time for a swim or even some fishing (depending on time). From the port we will go past cattle farms here the scenery changes to the plains,
this area is know as Los Llanos de Monagas, until reaching Rancho San Andres, a farm of 1200 hectares that will lodge us for the night. Dinner is served and free time at the lodge's bar.
DAY 04: SAN ANDRES – ORINOCO PARIA JUNGLE- RIVER DELTA. This morning we will have time to enjoy the facilities of the farm, join the early morning activities and for those who wish a
horseback ride is available (this activity has an additional charge paid locally). Later we initiate our trip to Caño Ajies located at the southern part of the Paria peninsula. We will lunch on the way. Once at Caño Ajies we
board the boats that will ride us through river canals and river delta formation until we reach the island where Orinoco Paria Camp is located. With luck we could be able to enjoy the wildlife of these areas. At Camp we will
settle ourselves get ready for dinner and later a night ride of the river looking for "BABAS" a small alligator that lives in these waters. Later return to camp and overnight.
DAY 05:ORINOCO PARIA CAMP. Breakfast. We will plan this day according to the tides. We have a trip to the waterfall "La Corocora" hat includes a 45 minute of jungle walk. This are is the
habitat of The Scarlet Ibis known as "Corocoras", the contrast of its color stands out with the green of mangroves. We will also have fishing time, a walk of the island where the camp is located to the highpoint to have a look
of the untouched land. In the afternoon just before the sunset we will go to the bird's island. At this place thousands of birds return to overnight giving us a spectacular experience. Later we return to camp for a cocktail,
dinner and overnight.
DAY 06: ORINOCO PARIA CAMP-SAN JUAN DE LAS GALDONAS. Breakfast. Then back to the boats for our return to caño ajies, once on the bus we initiate our trip to the thermal waters of Agua
Santa, the staff will instruct us about the baths and treatments available. There will be time available in case some will like to do them but keeping mind that these treatments are optional. For the others, time for rest and
bathing in the natural pools. Al lunch is served. After the Thermal waters w drive to Hato Rio de Agua, a buffalo farm located a beautiful point of the Paria peninsula. We will enjoy observing some of the animal life that
inhabits this farm and we will enjoy refreshment. Later we will continue our journey to the town of "San Juan de las Galdonas" a small typical fishermen's village, on the way we will enjoy the scenery from the mountains of
beautiful bays and villages. We will overnight at Hotel Las Pioneras where dinner will be served
DAY 07: SANTA LUCIA RIVER. Breakfast. We will board the boats to the town of Santa Isabel, traveling among the beautiful coast of Paria Peninsula and enjoying the sightseeing of dream
beaches. At Santa Lucia we will start our walk up river through the forest and a wonderful contact with nature. We will return to the town to enjoy a typical lunch later we will board the boats for our return, among the way we
will stop at a selected beach for swimming and relaxing. Late afternoon we will return to the hotel, enjoy the sunset and a dinner.
DAY 08 Breakfast, and time for leisure before we initiate our ride to Carupano where we will catch our flight to Isla Margarita, we will first pay a visit to a cocoa plantation called "Hacienda Bukare" we will be tour to the process of making chocolate with purely organic grown Cocoa, on the way we will stop at the town of Rio Caribe, have lunch at the fisherman's village of Morro de Puerto Santo until we reach Carupano if time allows it we will make a drive pass The Cathedral, Bolivar'ssquare and other sights. At approximately midday we go to airport to take our return flight to IslaMargarita, arrival at airport and transfers to Hotels. End of our excursion.
